Awards Categories
Action Sequence: A point in the story where the action becomes a significant portion of the plot, and where the description of such a scene is deemed thorough and entertaining.
Action/Adventure: Intense situations in the story which may involve violence, travels/quests, etc. The plot centers around a sequence, or single occurrence, of those situations.
Alternate Universe: Events, places, histories, etc., may be altered in order to set the characters in a different reality than that which is considered canon. Character change is not seen as acceptable in the change context. The category encompasses the Alternate Reality genre.
Canon: A story which does not defect from the universe created by the original author, and which presents known characters in their specified environment before, during, or after the storyline.
Characterization: The character must be portrayed in the context of their canon personality, which may be expanded upon within the story. The category includes the In-Character genre accepted by the Feudal Association.
Comedy: A story which utilizes the emotion of amusement to create plot. The category includes the Parody, Satire, and Humorous genres accepted by some of the awards groups.
Completed: A yearly award given to those fanfiction serials completed within the awards year.
Crossover: A fanfiction which combines elements from two or more series to create an original story.
Dark: A story which is intended to frighten, disturb, or shock the reader. The fanfiction may contain, but is not limited to, psychological twists, suspense, extreme violence, gruesome imagery, morbid subject matter, and/or supernatural elements.
Drabble: A story of 500 words or less which incorporate the typical elements of a longer work into the fewer words. This category replaces the "Short-Short" category which is specific to the Inuyasha Fanguild.
Drama: A scene or story which depicts a wide range of emotional states, particularly those which are especially heightened emotions such as joy or sorrow. The category encompasses both the Angst and Drama genres.The Destined Awards categories Melodrama and Tearjerker are included under this category.
The Eikyuu Kosai awards genre Dark is also included as part of the Angst category.
Fairy Tale: A fanfiction which is compromised of twelve chapters or less.
