Category Definitions
Due to the slight differences each awards group holds for their respective categories, several of the similiar categories have been merged in favor of a more concise, inclusive system of definition.
- Action/Adventure: Intense situations in the story which may involve violence, travels/quests, etc. The plot centers around a sequence, or single occurence, of those situations.
- Alternate Universe: Events, places, histories, etc., may be altered in order to set the characters in a different reality than that which is considered canon. Character change is not seen as acceptable in the change context. The category encompasses the Alternate Reality genre.
- Angst/Drama: A scene or story which depicts a wide range of emotional states, particularly those which are especially heigthened emotions such as joy or sorrow. The category encompasses both the Angst and Drama genres.
- Canon: A story which does not defect from the universe created by the original author, and which presents known characters in their specified environment before, during, or after the storyline. The category is specific to the Inuyasha Fanguild.
- Characterization: The character must be portrayed in the context of their canon personality, which may be expanded upon within the story. The category includes the In-Character genre.
- Comedy: A story which utilizes the emotion of amusement to create plot. The category includes the Parody, and Humorous genres.
